Extremophiles
- Michael Trotman

Ace Lake, found in Antarctica, has a water temperature of less than 2°C.
Scientists drill a hole in the ice to collect water samples from Ace Lake.
Charmaine is delicately placing the M.Burtonii solution into
a test tube using a pipette.

The test tube is now placed into a centrifuge where it will be spun at
extremely high speeds.

The different proteins from M. Burtonii can easily be seen as
different bands.

Teamwork plays an important role in any lab. Here Charmaine is with her
colleague Khawar Sohail Siddiqui.
