___"Six weeks prior to my HSC examinations, I began to question the role of Mathematics in the world. What are the applications of circle geometry, complex numbers, and calculus? What can I do with a degree in Mathematics?
___My 'Day in Science' team interviewed three mathematicians. One mathematician was once a DJ, another is a philosopher, and another regularly rides his bicycle. The differences between these three professors are obvious; their common denominator is their love of mathematics.
___Mathematicians are employed in universities, schools, and a wide range of industries. They provide everything from weather forecasts for the agricultural industry to investment analysis for the finance sector.
___The rigorous logic of Mathematics underpins enormously disparate disciplines from Business to Biology, Psychology, and Pharmacology."
