Medicine

___Among the sciences, medicine is naturally a field of primary concern to most of us. People are generally familiar with the medicine practised by their local GP, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Highly specialised branches of medicine deal with particular body systems or diseases. As a result of this specialisation, medicine is team-oriented. Medical professionals rely on colleagues from different specialisations and from related fields, including pharmacists, radiologists, and physiotherapists.

___Medicine is an applied science. Medical researchers investigate the underlying science of medicine, and this research is then applied by medical practitioners. Our group investigated medical science. The scientists we interviewed are contributing to the continuously growing body of medical knowledge, improving the restoration and maintenance of human health.

___"In my third and final year of Psychology, a daunting thought has arisen about what am I going to do next. Maybe I'll take a year off to travel and catch up with friends, something being at university has left me with little time for. Or then there is the idea of medicine, which I have always been interested in. At the moment, however, I think I'll just try and get through this semester… and maybe sleep a little. "
