The Big Bang of Astrophysical Technology!By Ba Phuoc Tran

A telescope on a continental scale

Imagine a radio telescope that spans up to thousands of kilometres. This may become a reality and Australia could be the fortunate country it would call home. It would take 20 years to build and allow us to understand how the first galaxies and stars actually formed.

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is one of Australia's biggest and most respected national scientific agencies. Mr Aaron Chippendale is a talented and enthusiastic Astrophysical Engineer and PhD student working for the CSIRO.
