The Beginnings

At age 11, Mike’s Aunty gave him a rock collecting kit, where his love of fossils began. As a child, he reduced a boulder from theDevonian Periodto pieces. As he grew, Mike accumulated a collection of fossils which he would show to his mentor, Norman D Newell, at the Museum of Natural History in New York. Norman was a believer in teaching children and made a lifelong impact on Mike.
