While studying, Rojana planned to become a lecturer. However, that was before she fell in love with scientific research. Rojana's teachers recommended that she complete a Doctorate. That would give her the qualifications to gain research funds. She was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Birmingham, one of the U.K.'s leading research institutions, where she studied bioscience.
