It's a Rat!
Once at Manly, I headed off with Rachael, who works for the National Parks and Wildlife Service. Our first stop was Shelley’s Beach where the traps were checked. They were hidden underneath low trees, bushes, or were in long grass. We didn’t find a lot of Bandicoots. Most of the traps were empty or were occupied by Rats - you don’t want to know what happened to them! We also found three rabbits and twobrush-tailed possums, which were released. It was amazing to see such a variety of smallmammalsand it was exciting to be able to examine them up close.
