All in a Day's Work

On a typical day, Maria will be in her office by 9.30am. On the Day in Science, she first spent part of her day discussing a research paper with one of her PhD students. She then gave a lecture to second year physics students.

Other daily tasks include supervising, attending meetings, writing research papers, collecting and analyzing data. She also does research onmolecular astrophysics. This involves looking at the birth of stars and the movements of galaxies.
