In the Beginning

As both a high school and university student, John described himself as “erratic and no, definitely not the model student”. He changed when he started university because he was doing something “he thoroughly enjoyed”.

His passion for sport nearly took over his promising scientific career. He was a skilled squash player and spent long hours training with his university team. However, it was easy to choose science and he has never looked back. “I chose science because I always loved it,” he says.
