Adam's job can be stressful. There are many deadlines to meet. With competition from research groups all over the world, he sometimes spends ten to twelve hours working everyday. “If you’re doing a job that you like then it’s not so bad,” he says.

On the Day in Science he began work at 8am - certainly not easy after a big night out at the pub to celebrate the graduation of one of his students.
