To relax, Adam jogs, plays the bass guitar, goes skiing; just the "usual things," he says. "Like you know, going to the pub.” He enjoys a number of coffee breaks with his colleagues during the day. Although he is not an avid coffee consumer, he is a big fan of Diet Coke. “Science cannot progress without caffeine,” he jokes. Coffee breaks are an important part of physics. “Many great ideas in science actually come when people working in different areas sit down together and start discussing the things they do," he says.
