Nasty Little Bacteria

Heather is currently working on a project involving the bacteriumHelicobacter pylori(H. pylori). She is using a method called In-HouseELISA (Enzyme-linked Immunosorbant Assay)which measures anti-H. pyloriantibodiesinhuman blood serum.These bacteria are the major cause of gastric cancer,gastritisandduodenal and gastric ulcers.H. pylori currently infects half of the world’s population.
