He originally wanted to study law. He even started studying a law degree in his native country, Brazil. However, he felt that something was not right. He wondered - why do people behave the way they do? Law did not have the answers to his queries, butpsychologydid. Psychology analyses the way people behave: the very thing that was puzzling Daniel. He wanted to know more.

Daniel threw away law and trained as aclinical psychologistinstead. After completing a bachelor’s degree, Daniel became a researcher, earning a PhD at theUniversity of Sao Paulo at Ribeirao-Preto.
